Now in Beta – Powered by AI, Built to Protect Your Monitoring
We’re excited to announce the beta release of Alertify’s new Tamper Detection feature – a smart tool designed to help you maintain accurate, uninterrupted monitoring in your short-term rentals.
After months of development and testing, we’re now rolling out this AI-powered feature to help hosts identify when guests try to interfere with the device itself – by covering, blocking, or disabling it. This is your first line of defense when guests attempt to hide risky behavior.
Why Tamper Detection Matters
Your Alertify device is designed to monitor noise, smoking, and more, but it can’t do its job if it’s intentionally blocked or covered.
From plastic bags to towels to creative hiding spots, guests sometimes try to prevent the device from capturing what’s happening in the space. The result? Lost data, undetected parties, and in some cases, costly damage.
Tamper Detection helps solve this. It alerts you when it looks like the device’s ability to monitor has been compromised, so you can act fast and keep your property protected.
How It Works
Our Tamper Detection feature uses a machine learning algorithm that analyzes data patterns to spot signs of interference. This includes:
- Sudden drops in decibel levels while the unit is occupied
- Sharp changes in temperature or air quality that suggest a blockage
- Extended “dead zones” of silence during high-risk times (like weekends or holidays)
- Repeated offline activity or signal disruption
The system is designed to recognize when the device may have been covered, muffled, or intentionally blocked, and will send a Tamper Alert directly to your dashboard and inbox.
This feature is constantly learning. The more it’s used, the smarter it gets – refining its sensitivity to distinguish between real tampering and environmental anomalies.
Help Us Improve
Tamper Detection is now available in beta for all Alertify users. This means the feature is fully functional, but we’re still improving it based on your real-world feedback. We encourage you to share your experience with our team. Your input directly helps shape this feature.
We built Tamper Detection to solve a real problem that many hosts face and we’re proud to finally share it with you. We can’t wait to hear what you think.
